Desiccant refers to a substance that can remove moisture from humid substances. It is often divided into two categories: the first category is desiccants whose physical state is unstable after absorbing water, such as calcium sulfate and calcium chloride, which are formed by combining with water. Hydrates are used for drying; the second category is desiccants that are physically stable after absorbing water. This type of desiccant generally contains micro-pores, such as Molecular Sieve desiccants, clay desiccants, silica gel and activated alumina, etc., and dries through physical adsorption of water. Among them, molecular sieves have the finest pores and can reach molecular-level dimensions in the crystal structure.
